PBA, 2004-07-30
On July 22, President George Bush signed into law HR 218, the law enforcement officers’ safety act. Often referred to as the “National Concealed Carry for Cops” bill, this legislation gives qualified off-duty and retired law enforcement officers the ability to carry their firearms concealed nationwide. This legislation has been sought after for years, and this year the U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill on June 23 and the U.S. Senate passed the bill on July 7.
