The State Troopers PBA continues to mourn the death of one of our own, Trooper John Gorke, who was killed on Friday when a vehicle struck him while riding a bicycle on Route 20 in Pompey. He was off-duty.
Trooper Gorke, 47, was assigned to Troop T in Syracuse and had worked in the marine unit since 1995. He was a Trooper for nearly 20 years.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
Funeral services have been set, and are as follows:
Calling hours will take place Monday at the Newell-Fay Funeral Home in Manlius from 2-4pm then again from 6-8pm.
Officer Gorke will be laid to rest Tuesday after the 11 a.m. funeral services, also to be held at the Newell-Fay home.
