Louisiana residents have welcomed with open arms New York State Troopers deployed in that state to assist in hurricane-ravaged areas. On Wednesday, 100 New York State Troopers flew to Louisiana as part of a 90-day special deployment by the New York State Police. One day later, feedback has already been received from Louisiana residents thanking New York State Troopers for their help. Below is an e-mail that was received at the Division of State Police:
I was driving into work a few moments ago, and noticed a convoy
of New York State Troopers (led by the La. State Police) entering
Interstate 10 on their way to parts of Louisiana. It brought tears to
my eyes. As a citizen of Louisiana, I just want to take a moment to
say thank you. It was a beautiful sight.

Since the New York State Troopers arrived in Louisiana yesterday, they have been paired with members of the Louisiana State Police to respond to complaints and calls for assistance in New Orleans.
New York State Troopers continue to serve and protect wherever and whenever needed, and the State Troopers PBA is extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of our members.
