The State Troopers PBA family is mourning the loss of Trooper Shawn Snow, who was killed in the line of duty on Aug. 3. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and fellow Troopers.
Trooper Snow died a hero, serving proudly and bravely as he made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of public safety.
“Trooper Snow’s tragic death is an unfortunate reminder of the dangers Troopers face every day. Other than military service, the job of a New York State Trooper is the most dangerous and unpredictable job in government service,” said PBA President Daniel M. De Federicis.
There is no such thing as a “routine” day for a Trooper while on patrol. Every element – ranging from weather conditions, traffic, criminals and suspects, and even assisting the public – is a potential danger to a Trooper and can prove dangerous and deadly at any time.
Trooper Snow is the seventh Trooper to die in the line of duty since 2006.
