The suspect wanted for questioning in the stabbing of New York State Trooper Rodney Smith on Sunday was found on Tuesday, arrested and arraigned on charges of first-degree aggravated assault on a police officer and first-degree robbery, both felonies, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. Trooper Smith was released from the hospital Tuesday and is recovering. The New York State Troopers PBA wishes Trooper Smith the best in his recovery, and thanks all of the police agencies that assisted the New York State Police in searching for the suspect.
