Statement from New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association President Thomas H. Mungeer about the appointment of Keith Corlett as State Police Superintendent:
The PBA applauds Governor Cuomo’s choice for Superintendent of the New York State Police and his recognition of the many fine leaders we have within our ranks to fill these top positions.
I’ve known Col. Keith Corlett for the majority of his time with the State Police and during that time I’ve worked both with him and for him. With Col. Corlett as the new Superintendent, the State Police will not only get a career Trooper who knows the State Police inside and out, but it will also get an intelligent, hard-working leader. The State Police will be in great hands with Col. Corlett as the Superintendent, and I look forward to working with him when he begins his new position.
At the same time, I would like to reiterate the positive relationship I shared with outgoing Superintendent George P. Beach II. Like his predecessor, Superintendent Beach left an indelible mark on the Division of State Police. Time and time again, George Beach proved himself to be a Trooper’s Trooper and we wish him well going forward.
